Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Fiji offers vital help across Fiji and the South Pacific Islands with emergency airl/land/sea ambulances and international MedEvac services.  Other key services include pre-hospital critical care, medical escort, search and rescue support, laboratory testing services for drugs and infectious disease and medical equipment hire.  Like anywhere, travel insurance is highly recommended, but you can have peace of mind knowing that these essential services are available 24/7 throughout Fiji. Hyperbaric (Decompression) Chamber 

For decompression and recompression services needed by the Fiji scuba diving industry, a new state-of-the-art hyperbaric chamber (or decompression chamber) is available at the Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH) Hospital in Nadi (across the road from the Nadi International Airport). Crime Safety

While Fiji is a generally safe destination, it's always smart to stay alert and take basic precautions: - 

• Petty Theft: Like in any popular tourist destination, petty theft can happen. Keep your valuables safe—store them in the hotel safe when you’re not using them or keep them on you in a secure pocket or bag. 
• Illegal Activities: Be aware that prostitution and the use of drugs (including marijuana) are illegal in Fiji and carry heavy penalties.
• Getting Around: If you're out in urban centres or unfamiliar areas, it's safest to opt for a clearly marked official taxi rather than walking. If you're ever in doubt, ask your accommodation or a local business for the best options for getting around. It's also good practice to agree on the fare before you hop in. 

Police Contacts

Contact your resort/hotel first to report a crime. They’d be familiar with the nearest police post or station – especially in remoter areas.
 

If you need help, feel free to ask for it. Fijians are some of the friendliest people you’ll meet and will often go out of their way to help others.
