Rooms are limited and there’s a long waitlist of loyal guests and surf lovers.  Tavarua Island Resort welcomes families year-round while Namotu Island Resort hosts families with young kids (under 12yrs) on designated ‘Family Weeks’ to coincide with school holidays.  Both resorts also offer other activities including fishing, yoga and island hopping.

If you're a surfer traveling with non-surfers, this is the spot!  You’re spoilt for choice on these larger islands with your pick of family, adults-only, luxury and budget resorts. Plus, you can still be close to the surfing action but with extra activities for non-surfers.  

While most Malolo resorts can arrange a boat ride out to the waves, some are better set up for surfers. Book a surf/stay package at the adults-only Lomani Island Resort or jump on one of the daily surf trips from family-friendly Plantation Island Resort. Both resorts offer surf transfers, dedicated guides and board hire and are a great base from which to explore other top attractions in the region. On the Mainland 

Depending on where you stay around Nadi, it’s just a breezy 25–45-minute boat ride away from the Mamanuca surf breaks. A huge variety of resorts, restaurants and activities plus easy access to incredible surf is hard to beat.   

Stay at Double Tree Hilton Sonaisali (15 mins from Nadi) and arrange a pickup with Fiji Surf Co just next door.  Not far off, Marriot Fiji Resort Momi Bay (30min from Nadi) have partnered with KaiWai Watersports Fiji to pick up their guests directly from the Marriott pontoon. 

Surf tour companies can even pick you up right at your doorstep from resorts around Nadi, Denarau and the Coral Coast. Book a seat on a surf boat, charter one for your squad, rent some boards, take surf lessons, or mix it up with some island hopping for a memorable day out.
