Coastal Stronghold: Discover the Rich History of Momi Gun Site
For history buffs, the Momi Bay Historical Park, commonly known as the Momi Gun Site, should be on your must visit list. Located on the western side of Viti Levu, the site is one of six gun batteries installed during the Second World War, to protect Fiji against possible invasion by the Japanese.
With stunning views out to the Malolo Barrier Reef and the Mamanuca Islands, the site overlooks the Navula passage. The area was protected during World War II being close to one of the few deep water passages and entry points into western Fiji.
