Yes! If you have a valid outbound ticket within 72 hours and meet the entry requirements of your next destination, you’re good to go. You can stay in the airport for up to 10 hours or leave to explore and stay at a nearby hotel.
If you’re from a visa-exempt country, you won’t need to apply for a transit visa to leave the airport. This includes travelers from Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, China, Singapore, India, Japan, and the United Kingdom.
If your country isn’t on this list, you will need to apply for a transit visa. Check with your travel agent or Fiji Immigration before you travel. Required documents for transiting Fiji for a 3hrs - 72hrs stay include:
Completed Visitors Visa Application form
Certified copy of passport (Bio data page)
Two (02) recent passport size photos
Proof of onward ticket to the next destination and another outward ticket if traveling out of that destination
Proof of approved visa/permit for the next destination
Fiji is open, restriction-free, and ready for travelers! While travel insurance isn’t required, it’s a smart choice for peace of mind.
If you plan on leaving the airport to explore, you can drop your bags at the airport luggage storage room just off the Arrivals Hall (near the rental car kiosks). The storage facility is guarded and open daily from 5am – 10pm.
Luggage storage fees are charged daily per item, and they depend on your luggage size—whether it's a small bag, suitcase, or oversized item. Bring cash (in FJ dollars) to pay upfront and remember to lock your luggage before storing it.
Can I exchange money at Nadi International Airport?
The Fijian dollar is the basic unit of currency with denominations of $5, $7, $10, $20, $50 and $100. Coins are 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, $1 and $2.
Visa and Mastercard credit cards are widely accepted in Fiji, but many places add a 3% surcharge. Small shops, restaurants, local transport, and markets often only take cash in Fiji dollars, so it’s wise to carry both cash and a card.
You can exchange currency 24/7 at the airport or during regular hours in Nadi neighborhoods like Namaka, Martintar, and Nadi Town. Outside of the airport, these services are closed on Sundays.
