Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort is unique for its ability to provide a romantic luxury experience for couples seeking a tropical secluded getaway whilst at the same time offering a fun, educational children’s activity program. The resort has achieved this balance by providing adult only activity programs, adult only oceanfront Infinity pool and dining area. Families have a separate facility (Bula Club) with sun shaded  family and junior pool with water slides & a shallow mushroom cascading pool for toddlers, cubby house, trampoline, dining area and much much more.

Each child under 6 has an exclusive nanny from 8am-9pm and children 6 to 12 years have a Fijian buddy on maximum 1-5 ratio.

Room types

Reminiscent of a Fijian village, the resort features 25 individual bures (Fijian thatched-roof bungalows) just steps from the beach. Designed in an environmentally friendly style, with a warm ambience, the 25 spacious individual one and two bedroom  bures –  exude tropical elegance.

The bures with Oceanfront or Garden views offer contemporary décor, luxurious King bed with custom made mattress, single day bed, overhead fans, standing fan, writing desk, bath robes,  mini-bar  stocked with complimentary non- alcoholic bottled beverages, juices, 'French press' coffee maker, specialty coffee and teas, robes, safe, hairdryer, natural “Pure Fiji”  toiletries, fresh flowers and complimentary Wi -fi reception.

There are no telephones (except in the Villa) or televisions in any of the bures, which adds to the serenity of the environment. The bures are naturally ventilated with hardwood timber louver screened full length windows front & back.  Oceanfront bures have a double hammock on the outdoor upper deck. The grand-scale bure, the Villa, was hailed as “Fiji’s Leading Suite” in the 2007 World Travel Awards.

The culinary experience is award-winning. A la carte meals catering to both simple and sophisticated palates are savoured either in our Ocean-view, open-air temple roof   bure or poolside. Serving the “Best Food in Fiji” (Travel + Leisure), the menus incorporate a blend of Contemporary Fijian, South Pacific and international cuisine.

We offer an adults only dining area, lantern lit pier dinner, private beachfront  bures or on a romantic deck. Families also have a variety of options and children’s have their own lunch and dinner a la carte menus. Much of the produce for the menus is grown in the resorts one acre organic garden or obtained fresh from the surrounding ocean.
